The victims of cyberbullying can cause them to have mental health problems. As for the cyberbullies, they can get into major trouble depending on how serious the situation is. There are different laws in different states that can put people in jail just for cyberbullying.
Effects on Cyberbullies
Most people think that cyberbullies get off easy when they commit something towards a victim. Effects on the victim
To be a victim of cyberbullying can cause one to have different mental illnesses such as humiliation, isolation, depression, etc. The victims are likely to be traumatized from the situation that they were put in. For example, if a cyberbully posts false information about someone they don’t like, it can be left for people to believe and can cause damage to the victim because it can be left on their digital footprint which can cause trouble in the future. According to Sherri Gordon, “For instance, if a girl is called fat, she may begin a crash diet with the belief that if she alters how she looks then the bullying will stop.” Being cyberbullied can allow someone to go into an unhealthy lifestyle they don’t want which can cause unfortunate events.
